Micheletti, former president of the Honduran Congress, was appointed president after the June 28 coup that exiled President Zelaya.

Micheletti said that he respected Ortega and wanted to talk with him because "the Central American (people) are brothers," though he does not share Oretega's political view.

Micheletti made the remarks on the Nicaraguan radio station 15 de septiembre, owned by Enrique Quinonez, deputy head of the Nicaraguan Constitutionalist Liberal Party. .

He noted that if Zelaya returns to Honduras he will be taken to court for crimes against the Constitution, and there will be no amnesty for him.

Ortega invited the ousted Honduran president Zelaya to stay in Nicaragua to demand reinstatement. He accused Micheletti of being supported by coup soldiers.
