Chinese President Hu Jintao continued his three-day state visit to France on Friday.

He met with former French president Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Francois Fillon in Paris in the morning, before flying to the southern city of Nice, where he held talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The following are highlights of Hu's acitivities in Paris and Nice on Friday.

PARIS -- President Hu says China-France relations should adjust to the tide of the times by exploring and creating new areas of cooperation and enriching the content of the comprehensive strategic partnership to better benefit the peoples of the two countries and the world.

He made the remarks when meeting with French Prime Minister Fillon in Paris on Friday morning.

Hu said the two countries should continuously enhance mutual trust in political terms and strengthen communication and coordination on major international issues.
