This Dredger offers both portability and power - the series 800 "Dragon" design criteria features rapid dismantling, mobility, re-assembling and start-up minimizing downtime and ensuring high productivity. The main engine for the Direct Drive Pump Unit was rebuilt in 2008 and has approx. 700 working hours and the engine for the Hydraulic Power Package was also rebuilt and has 0 working hours.

Hull
The hull is a three-pontoon quick connect/disconnect assembly with all machinery in center pontoon.
The outboard pontoons for floatation and ballast with 2,800 U.S. gallons (10,600 liters) fuel storage.
The hull steel is up to 3/8 inch thick: bulkheads up to 1/4 inch thick: all of A36 or A7 steel.
Approximate operating draft 3 feet (0.91 m).
Deckhouse and control center panels fabricated from 12 gauge steel.
Direct Drive Pump Unit
The pump direct driven through fully enclosed speed reduction gear by heat exchanger cooled Caterpillar diesel Engine - Model D348TA, rated 720 hp (537 kW) continuous duty (1,100 hp (820 kW) maximum) with electric starting. This engine was rebuilt in 2008 and has approx. 700 working hours.
14 discharge diameter pipe, (pipe not included).
Hydraulic Power Package
Dredges 2 hydraulic pumps, with a combined manufacture's maximum rating up to 255 hp (190 kW) are direct driven by a radiator cooled Caterpillar - Model D333C diesel engine, rated 170 hp (127 kW) continuous duty (300 hp (224 kW) maximum). This engine was also rebuilt and has 0 working hours.
Hydraulic system includes four independent open loop circuits, one for cutter, one for swing winch, torque tubes and spuds, one for controls and one for service water pump.
Pressure relief valves in all circuits prevent damage by limiting hydraulic pressure.
For easy access, all hydraulic valves are located at a manifold in the engine compartment.
Dirt indicating hydraulic oil filters encourage maintenance.
Wire mesh filters are convenient, economical and reusable.
Excavating Module and Torque Tube
Cutter direct driven by 10 cylinder, slow-speed radial piston hydraulic motor with 225 hp (168 kW) rating.
Cutter speed variable up to 32 RPM, cutter torque up to 152.300 inch pounds at standard pressure setting.
Underwater excavating module features short drive shaft with weight concentrated at the cutter for efficiency.
Basket cutter diameter 41-1/2 inches (1,054 mm): cutter shaft maximum diameter 5-1/2 inches (140 mm).
Excavating module recessed inside torque tube for protection of all operating parts.
Power Swing Winch
Two-drum "Dragon" swing winch, driven by 5-cylinder, slow-speed, radial piston hydraulic motor with maximum rating of 170 hp (127 kW) provides 14,500 lbs. line pull a variable speed up to 96 feet (29.2 m)per minute on second wrap.
Winch Pitch diameter 11-3/8 inches (289 mm) on the first wrap.
winch drum capacity 375 feet (114 m) of 5/8 inch (15.9 mm) wire rope.
Electrical System
24-volt direct current electrical system, provided by batter charging generator, is powered by the auxiliary diesel engine.
Spuds & Spud Lifters
Two (2) 16 inch (406 mm) O. D., heavy wall, cylinder steel spuds mounted in spud keepers at stern.
Spuds raised by Ellicott exclusive hydraulic clamp-collar lifting mechanism at rate of 30 feet (9.14 m) per minute.
Upper spud keeper hinged to permit horizontal stowage of spuds on cradles at deckhouse roof level.
