Thanks to an amazing list of "The Best Web 2.o Application for Education-2007" fromLarry Ferlazzo‘s Website,I decided to create my own list of the applications that have been themost useful or promising in the Elementary School scene.
Maybe I even make a meme out of it to encourage other elementaryschool techies to create their own lists and publish them on theirblog. The list does not have to be in any particular order. Great ifyou write a short sentence about what the tool does.
Animoto
Createyour own music video, simply by uploading your own images and selectingmusic. + Students LOVED seeing themselves on the video. - Limit of 30seconds
Slide.com
Create your own slideshow, then embed in your classroom blog.
Slideshare
Upload your students‘ or your own powerpoint files in order to embed them on your classroom blog
Lunapic
Web based image editor. Great effecs and animations.
Voicethread
Uploadyour images, record your voice over each image, invite others tocollaborate, embed in your blog, collaborative storytelling
Ning
Createyour own social network place for your students. Ning will even removethe ads, if you write to them that they are for elementary schoolstudents. Great potential to teach our younger students about socialnetworkign in a safe environment.
Google Earth &Maps
Takea virtual tour around the world, create placemarks, add your own imagesor videos. Have students add their own descriptions. Save and shareplacemarks and virutal tours on your blog. Embed Google Maps on yourclassroom blog.
Flickr
THEbest photosharing site. Especially love the many other sites, thatmash-up and integrate with Flickr. Once your photos are uploaded toFlickr, there is no need to upload again and you can use the URLprovided for different sizes for other applications as well
Mixbook
Greatpotential for collaborative classroom creation, editing and publishingof books. Great variety of layouts, including text AND images.
Wordpress
Bloggingplatform (Free). Can be hosted by Wordpress or your own server. Iespecially like the widget features, plug-ins and theme varietiesavailable.

6.Ning
为学生创建自己的社会化网络。如果你写信给Ning，告诉他们这是为小学生创建的网络，他们甚至会去掉广告。对于在一个安全的环境下对小孩子进行社会化网络教育来说，Ning潜力巨大。
7.Google Earth & Maps

10.Wordpress
博客平台（免费的）。可以寄放在Wordpress主机上，也可以放置在自己的服务器上。我尤其喜欢那些Widgets，插件和各种各样的可选主题。
