除了良好的手感，PowerShot A70的各种功能按钮的分布也比较合理。机顶的键位设定秉承佳能便携式相机一贯的风格：在变焦拨杆的包围之下是快门释放按钮，模式转盘也在大拇指的全盘掌控之中。机身背后的各种操控也简洁合理。闪光灯、微距/手动对焦都设置了快捷键，而感光度、白平衡、拍摄模式、图像尺寸等选项的设定都可以方便地从“功能（FUNC）”键中调出，也比较快捷。
1.5英寸的LCD虽然不是很大，但是使用起来却很称手，即便需要精确构图，它也能胜任。而LCD具有的取景、放大两大功能可以方便地通过屏幕左上角的“浏览/切换键”快速实现，恰似“花开两朵，各表一支”。
电源及存储：

图像质量：
佳能 PowerShot A70的成像质量在300万像素级别的数码相机中还是有不错的表现。
1、分辨率与细节表现：我们采用PIMA/ISO 12233分辨率测试卡来检验佳能 PowerShot A70(拍摄参数：ISO50、光圈f5.6、自动白平衡、关闭色彩效果、关闭数码变焦、不使用闪光灯、使用三脚架)。
从分辨率标板上看，佳能 PowerShot A70的水平和垂直分辨率均可达到1250LPH。同心圆、45度斜向线对和5度斜向线对的表现相对于这个档次的DC来说都不错。
2、镜头畸变
从实际拍摄结果来看，佳能 PowerShot A70对于广角的畸变处理不是很理想，有比较明显的变形。但是，它在长焦端的表现还是不错的，拍摄效果已经接近理想状态。这也难怪，毕竟它是一款只有3倍光学变焦的DC嘛。
3、色彩表现
