If other troubleshooting efforts have been unsuccessful, you can try the following.
Switching the USB connection protocol
If you are using the following Windows Mobile powered device, use the steps described under the device name to switch the USB connection protocol.
Palm Treo 700w
Follow the instructions available athttp://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/usbswitch/index.html.
If you do not have that device, see if it is possible to do the following on your device:
Do one of the following:
On a Windows Mobile powered Pocket PC, tap Start > Settings > Connections.
On a Windows Mobile powered smartphone, from the Home screen, click Start > Settings > Connections.
Click or tap USB to computer.
Clear the Enable advanced network functionality check box.
This feature is not supported on all devices. To find out if it is available for your device, contact the support number in your device documentation.
Checking and correcting the connection properties
If the network connection (sometimes called the network adapter) is not accompanied by the appropriate connection software, it is said to be "bound" to the connection software, and it will not communicate properly with the system or with other devices.
Click Start > Control Panel > Network Connections>
Note: If your Control Panel is set to Category View, open Network and Internet Connections and open Network Connections.
Right-click Windows Mobile-based Device and click Properties. Ensure that the following items appear under This connection uses the following items and that their check boxes are selected:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

To add any items from step 2 that do not appear in the list, do one or more of the following:
Click Install, select Client, click Add, click Client for Microsoft Networks, click OK.
Click Install, select Service, click Add, click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, click OK.
Click Install, select Protocol, click Add, under Manufacturer select Microsoft, select Internet protocol (TCP/IP), click OK.
If you added any items in the previous step, reconnect the device after you exit the connection properties dialog box.
