“THEY CAME FIRST for the Communists, (他们先是来抓共产主义者)
  and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.(我没有说话,因为我不是共产主义者)
THEN THEY CAME for the Jews,(他们接着来抓犹太人)
   and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.(我没有说话,因为我不是犹太人)

THEN THEY CAME for the trade unionists,(他们又来抓工会会员)

  and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.(我没有说话,因为我不是工会会员)
THEN THEY CAME for the Catholics,(他们再来抓天主教徒)
   and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.(我没有说话,因为我是新教教徒)
THEN THEY CAME for me,(最后他们来抓我)
and by that time no one was left to speak up."(这时再也没有人站出来为我说话了)

              Martin Niemoeller(马丁•尼莫拉)
              Lutheran Pastor (路德教会牧师)

This statement, attributed to Pastor Niemoeller, has become a legendary expression of the lesson of the Holocaust.Ironically, Niemoeller had delivered anti-Semitic sermons early in the
Nazi regime. He later opposed Hitler and was sent to a concentration camp.(尼莫拉牧师的这番陈辞,已成为大屠杀教训的传奇注脚。
