慕尼黑啤酒节(又称“十月节”,Oktoberfest)每年九月末到十月初在德国的慕尼黑举行,持续两周,是慕尼黑一年中最盛大的活动。2002年大约有六百万人参加了啤酒节,许多其他城市也效法慕尼黑举办“十月节”。

活动一共举行16天,到十月的第一个星期天为止,举行的地点是一个叫做"Theresienwiese"的地方,巴伐利亚方言简称为"Wiesen"(意为牧场)。为了这个活动专门酿制的一种啤酒叫做Wiesenbier,注意不要和Märzen混淆,比一般的啤酒颜色更深,酒劲儿也更大,上酒的时候用的是一种叫做“Maß”的容量一升的大酒杯,现场搭建起容纳三千到一万人的大帐篷,只有慕尼黑当地的酒商才被允许在里边提供这种酒。酒客们也消耗掉大量的食物,大多是传统的家常小吃如香肠、烤小鸡、泡菜和烤牛尾等。

据说十月节的前身来自于丰收的农夫,在出售农产品并从市集中购买了农产品之后,一年有这么一次饮酒狂欢的日子。

第一届的十月节举行于1810年的十月12日到17日,为了庆祝巴伐利亚王子路德维希一世和萨克森-希德伯格豪森公主特雷莎的婚礼尔举行了一场赛马。因为这次活动的成功,十月节成了每年固定的活动,后来加入了农产品集市、舞蹈、音乐、骑马游览等项目。至今总共有24年的活动因为战争、疾病和其他原因被取消。赛马在1960年停止了。

在慕尼黑啤酒节上,人们身着巴伐利亚的传统服装,在大帐篷里饮酒,歌唱,跳舞,可以到晚上一两点。但是如今的啤酒节最晚的上酒时间到10点半就结束了。

1980年9月26日,活动入口处一枚炸弹爆炸,造成13人死亡,伤200多人。炸弹是由一个21岁的新纳粹分子安放的,他在爆炸中当场身亡。
