Apple Daily, December 8; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Monday 8 December 2008]BenQ is targeting to gain 5% a share of the 2009 global netbook market, which is expected to reach a shipments scale of 35 million units, according to a Chinese-language Apply Daily report citing Conway Lee, president of BenQ.
BenQ has set its 2009 annual guidance at shipments of 40,000 netbooks in Taiwan to take the third largest netbook vendor spot. In the China market, the company is targeting to ship 20,000 units per month in the second quarter next year, noted the paper.
Of BenQ's annual notebook shipments goal of 500,000 units in 2009, netbooks will contribute 70%, added the paper.
