violence.

7. In war-torn countries, every time we hear of a
cease fire and peace, . . .

8. it turns out to be a time for reloading of the
weapons.

9. And, yet, in the midst of all this violence and
turmoil, . . .

10. we hear the message of the angels "Peace on
earth, good will among men."

11. The streets of many cities are marked with
violence and blood-shed.

12. In many cities, people are afraid to venture out
at night.

13. And people are asking:

14. "Where is this Prince of Peace of whom the
angels said will bring peace on earth, good will
among men?"

15. And people might rightly ask:

16. “Where is this peace that the angels declared
at the birth of Jesus Christ?”
天使在耶穌基督降生時所宣告的平安在那

17. Turmoil seems to have invaded all
institutions. . . and relationships.
看來,「騷亂」已入侵所有的團體組織和人
際關係之間了。
18. Turmoil has invaded the family, and even many
churches.
「騷亂」已入侵家庭,什至在很多教會中。
19. Where is this Prince of Peace of whom the
angels sang?
天使所歌頌的和平之君在那兒?
20. Peace and tranquility . . . that is the cry of every
human heart..
平安和恬靜,是每個人心中的呼求。
21. Yet, the angel announced that on earth there
would be peace.
而天使也確實宣告了地上會有平安的。
22. What does that mean?
那是什么意思呢?
23. It means this
意思就是,
24. if you do not have peace in your heart,. . .
如果你心中沒有平安,
25. if you do not have peace in your marriage, . . .
如果你的婚姻沒有平安,
26. if you do not have peace in your home, . . .
如果你的家沒有平安,
27. if you do not have peace with yourself, . . .
如果你自己本身沒有平安,
28. Most likely it is because you have not
enthroned the Prince of Peace, . . .
很可能是因為你沒有尊崇那位和平之君,
29. on the throne of your heart, . . .
讓祂在你心中作王,
30. and on the throne of your home.
讓祂成為你家之主。
31. And that is why any talk of real peace . . . is
futile without the Prince of Peace himself.
因此,沒有和平之君,就沒有真平安可談。
32. The peace of which the secular world talks
about is a time for re-loading of the weapons.
世界所講的平安,其實是補給軍火的時機。
33. A time of calm before another storm.
只不過是另一場暴風雨來臨前短暫的平靜。
34. But, that is not the peace that the angels have
proclaimed nearly 2000 years ago.
但是,這並不是兩千年前天使所宣告的平
安。
35. Let me begin at the beginning.
讓我從最開頭說起。
36. Humanity has been at war with one another
from the time of creation,
人類自創世以來就一直彼此為仇,
37. ever since Adam and Eve rebelled against God
and disobeyed His commands.
就是從亞當和夏娃犯罪違背神的命令后開始

38. Ever since that time, . . .

39. people for centuries have longed for a moment
of true peace in their hearts and in their
communities.

40. But 2000 years ago when the Prince of Peace
was born in a manger, . . .

41. He was wrapped up in a white flag of true
peace.

42. The manger was the place where God signed a
peace treaty.
馬槽就是神為人簽署和約的地方。
43. And, from that moment to this very moment, . . .

44. anyone who comes to God in surrender of their
weapons, . . .
任何人來到神的跟前,只要放下他們的武
器,
45. in surrender of their will, . . .

46. in surrender of their resistance to him, . . .

47. receives true peace.
就可以得到真平安。
48. Does that mean that you will never have
problems?

49. NO!
不!
50. The best illustration that I can think of took
place several years ago.
有一個最貼切的例子,是在幾年前發生的
事。
51. A submarine was being tested and had to
remain submerged for several days.
有一艘潛水艇要接受檢查,需要潛入水底好
幾天。
52. When it returned to the harbor, the captain was
asked:
當它返回港口,有人問船長:
53. "How did the terrible storm of last night effect
you?"
昨天晚上那場大風暴對你有什么影響?
54. The captain looked at his superior officer with a
surprise look on his face and said:

55. "What storm?”

56. “We did not know there was one!"

57. The submarine had been so far beneath the
surface, . . .

59. Although the ocean was whipped into huge
waves by high winds, . . .

60. the waters below were never stirred.
但海底卻聞風不動。
61. That is the kind of peace that the angels
proclaimed on that first Christmas night.
這就是第一個聖誕夜天使所宣告的平安。
62. That is the kind of peace that the Prince of
Peace wants to give to you now.
這就是和平之君現在要給你的平安。
63. That is the kind of peace that you can receive
from His hand if you ask him for it today
如果你今天向祂求,立刻就可以從祂手中獲
得這平安。
64. You may have been resisting God's gentle
voice of invitation to you.
也許你一直拒絕接受神微聲的呼喚。
65. He has been trying to speak to you;
祂一直想要跟你說話;
66. Maybe through your parents . . .
也許藉著你的父母,
67. Or through your children . . .
或者藉著你的兒女,
68. Or through your friends.
或者藉著你的朋友,
69. He has repeatedly invited you to come to Him.
祂不斷地邀請你到祂那裡。
70. He has been standing in the door of your life
and knocking.
祂一直站在你生命的門外敲門。
71. He has been longing for you to sign the peace
treaty which He himself has already signed.
神期望跟你簽一份和約,而祂自己早已在和
約上簽了名。
72. But you have been resisting!
但是你仍舊拒絕!
73. You can take that step of faith and say, "Lord,
during this Christmas season, I surrender.”
你可以跨出信心的一步,對神說:「主阿,
在這聖誕節的時刻,我願將自己交託給
你。」
74. “I come to you.”
「我來歸向你。」
75. “You have come from heaven 2000 years ago
for me . . .
「兩千年前你從天上降臨是為了我,
76. now I come to you.”
現在我來歸向你。」
77. There is nothing else you can do to bring about
the peace in God, . . . and peace with God, . . .
除此之外,你不能做什么去得到在神裡面的
平安,並與神和好,
78. and peace with your conscience.
還有,讓你心安理得。
79. Many years ago, I met a man in Australia.
很多年前,我在澳大利亞遇到一個人。
80. His name was Colin.
他的名字叫柯林。
81. His life from the outside seemed just fine.
從外表看,他過得還不錯。
82. But when he told me what was going on in his
life, . . .
但當他告訴我他生命裡所發生的事,
83. there was nothing short of turmoil, grief and
pain.
充滿了混亂、憂傷和痛苦。
84. He searched for peace in success in his job.
他在工作成就上找尋平安。
85. He searched for peace in his marriage.
他在婚姻關係中找尋平安。
86. He searched for peace in his social life.
他在社交生活裡找尋平安。
87. But, he could not find it!
可是他並沒有找到!
88. I shared with him the secret of peace . . . that is
beyond comprehension.
我跟他分享平安的祕訣,是超越人所能理解
的。
89. I shared with him the peace that only the Prince
of Peace can give him.
我跟他分享,只有和平之君才能給予他平
安。
90. But, he did not respond.
可是他沒有作出回應。
91. He said: “That's too easy.”
他說:「那太容易了。」
92. “This is too simple.”
「那太簡單了。」
93. “Just inviting the Lord into my life will not
give me the peace that I am searching for.”
「光是邀請主進入我的心,並不會帶來我想
找的平安。」
94. But, he went to the church of his parents.
不過,他去了他父母的教會。
95. He joined that church and he became one of the
busiest workers in that church.
他加入那教會,並且成為教會中最忙于事奉
的人。
96. But his inner turmoil was on the increase.
可是他內心的混亂卻有增無減。
97. He thought that church and church activities
would give him relief.
他滿以為教會和教會的活動能夠讓他舒緩一
下。
98. They did not.
但並非如他所願。
99. He thought that religion could help him
overcome his inner war.
他以為宗教能夠幫助他勝過內心的爭戰。
SECTION B
1. It did not.
事實並不如此。
2. He thought that if he tried hard enough that he
would alleviate his inner battles.
他以為全力以赴就可減輕內心的鬥爭。
3. But it did not.
事實並不如此。
4. The only one who can do all of that is a person:
只有一個人有這樣的能力:
5. And that person's name is Jesus . . .
而那人的名字叫耶穌…
6. whose birth we celebrate during this season.
現在我們正慶祝他的生日。
7. Will you invite Him to come into your troubled
heart tonight?
今天你是否要請祂進到你煩躁的心?
8. Will you invite Him to come into your troubled
life?
你是否要請祂進入你備受困擾的生命?
9. When my friend, Colin, finally began to read
the Scripture, . . .
我的朋友柯林終于開始讀聖經了,
10. his eyes were opened to this profound truth of
the birth of God in human flesh.
他的心眼被打開,看到了神降世為人奧妙的
真理。
11. When Colin finally invited Jesus to come into
his life, . . .
最后,當柯林邀請耶穌進入他的生命后,
12. he received that peace which passes
comprehension and which he so desperately
longed for.
他所得到的平安,超過他一直所渴求的,也
超過他所想像的。
13. When Jesus comes into your life, He does
several things.
當耶穌進入你的生命裡,祂會做一些事。
14. He brings you peace with his Father, God the
Creator of heaven and earth.
祂使你與創造天地的父神和好,你就有了平
安。
15. He brings you peace with your inner being.
祂使你與自己和好,你就有了平安。
16. He brings you peace with others.
祂使你與別人和好,你就有了平安。
17. There is something else that He brings you
祂還帶給你其他的福分
18. Jesus did not leave His eternal throne in heaven
and be born of a virgin just to bring us peace in
this life.
耶穌離開天上永恆的寶座降世為人,從童貞
女而生,並不是僅僅要給我們今生的平安。
19. By His coming into our world, Jesus gave us
eternal peace, . . .
耶穌來到我們的世界,更為我們帶來永恆的
平安,
20. peace that goes on and on and on after our
death.
這平安一直延續下去,直到我們死后。
21. This life, whether it be long or short, . . .
今生,無論是長是短,
22. this life, whether it be comfortable or not, . . .
今生,無論舒適與否,
23. this life, whether it be in good health or not.
今生,無論健康與否,
24. sooner or later we shall all die.
遲早我們都會死。
And as far as God is concerned:
在神的標準裡:
25. none of us is good enough to get to heaven on
our own merits.
在我們中間沒有一個人可以憑自己的功德進
天堂。
26. You could bury your life in serving the poor.
在你的生命中,你可以埋頭努力服事貧苦大
眾。
27. But that will not get you to heaven.
但那樣並不能讓你進天堂。
28. God said you will not go to heaven on the basis
of how good you are.
神說,你不能憑著自己的好品德進天堂。
29. God said, you will not go to heaven on the basis
of the good that you do.
神說,你不能憑著自己的善行進天堂
30. Why?
為什么?
31. Because we are born with sin.
因為我們與生俱來都帶有罪性。
32. We are born with the desire to do things our
own way and not let God be in charge of our
lives.
我們一生下來便要按自己的意思行事而不讓
神來掌管我們的生命。
33. Only the giver of peace, . . .
只有那位賜予平安者,
34. only the Prince of Peace, . . .
只有那位平安之君,
35. only the Lord Jesus Christ, . . .
只有主耶穌基督,
36. can make it possible for you and for me to get
to heaven.
可以把你跟我帶進天堂。
37. Only His goodness is good enough to get us
into heaven.
只有祂那完全的美善,才足以帶我們進天
堂。
38. You might ask “What about all these good
people who do not believe in Jesus?”
你也許會問:「那么,那些不相信耶穌的好
人會怎么樣?」
39. That is not your problem.
那不是你擔心的事。
40. That is God's problem.
那是神的事。
41. Your response to God's invitation is your
responsibility.
你的責任就是回應神對你的邀請。
42. On the day of judgement God is going to ask
you the question,
在最終審判的那天,神會問你一個問題,
43. "What did you do with my son Jesus?"
「你如何對待我的兒子耶穌?」
44. “Did you come to Him?”
「你有沒有歸向祂?」
45. “Did you accept His invitation?”
「你有沒有接受祂的邀請?」
46. “Did you invite Him into your life?”
「你有沒有請祂進入你的生命?」
47. For centuries, men and women gazed up in
heaven and asked what is God like?
自古以來,人們都向天仰望,問道:「神是
怎么樣的?」
48. And on that first Christmas day God revealed
what He is like.
在第一個聖誕日,神就顯明祂自己。
49. There is a story about a little boy whose Father
had been away at war for quite some time.
有一個故事說到一個小男孩,他爸爸離家上
戰場已有好一段時間。
50. Finally out of frustration he looked at a large
framed portrait of his dad and said:
最后他感到很沮喪的看著他爸爸的照片,
說:
51. "Mom, I wish dad could just step out of the
frame and walk into the room."
「媽媽,我真希望爸爸能從鏡框中出來,走
進這個房間。」
52. On that first Christmas day, God stepped out of
the frame and walked into our world..
在第一個聖誕日,神就是從鏡框中出來,走
進我們的世界。
53. Do you want to know what God is like?
你要知道神是怎么樣的嗎?
54. Look to Jesus.
看看耶穌。
55. Do you want to understand how God acts?
你要明白神是怎么行事的?
56. Look to Jesus.
看看耶穌。
57. Do you want to comprehend the character of
God?
你要了解神的性情嗎?
58. Look to Jesus.
看看耶穌。
59. Why is looking to Jesus most important?
為什么認識耶穌那么重要?
60. Because God has made only one provision for
you and for me to get to heaven.
因為神已經為了我和你預備了上天堂唯一的
路。
61. And that is by accepting his son, the Lord Jesus
Christ.
就是接受祂的兒子主耶穌基督為救主。
62. God has done His part.
神已經成就了祂的事。
63. God has fixed His signature to the peace treaty.
神已經在和約上簽了祂的名。
64. Will you fix your signature on that peace treaty
tonight?
今天你也要在和約上簽你的名嗎?
65. Will you say: “Yes, Lord Jesus,”
你會不會說:「主耶穌啊,」
66. “I have ignored your invitation for far too
long.”
「我一直忽視你的邀請。」
67. “I have resisted you for too long.”
「我一直抗拒你。」
68. “I have rejected you for too long.”
「我一直拒絕你。」
69. "Today come to you. . . to surrender to you. . .
and to receive you into my life."
「今天我來歸向你…降服于你…請你進入我
的生命。」
70. “Today I come to receive your peace.”
「今天我來要得著你的平安。」
