Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that the disclosure of Iran-related U.S. military documents by whistleblower website WikiLeaks is "suspicious", the official IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.

The website recently released a number of documents on the eve of the formation of a new Iraqi government, while the accuracy of which is not confirmed, so the action seems "completely suspicious, " Mottaki was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency.

Mottaki made the remarks at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.

On Friday, WikiLeaks released a big number of U.S. military documents dating from January 2004 to the end of 2009, detailing Iran's role in allegedly training and arming Iraqi Shi'ite militias to fight U.S. troops in Iraq.

Mottaki said that in the published documents, the U.S. operations in Iraq have been played down and there is no trace of inhuman acts of the U.S. forces in Iraq, according to IRNA.

He rejected the accusations against Iran in the released documents claiming Iran's intervention in Iraq's internal affairs, said the report.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast described the intention behind the disclosure of the classified U.S. military documents by WikiLeaks as "mischievous", saying that the leak's timing is aimed at affecting government formation talks in Baghdad.
