ACCOMPANIST AUDITIONS
FALL 2010
Auditions for new Juilliard School piano accompanists will be held in late September or early October 2010.  The date will be announced before the start of the school year.
Accompanists are paid by the School to play for vocal and instrumental lessons, classes, and recitals.  Applicants must be Juilliard students who are enrolled for the fall term OR members of the Juilliard Class of 2010.
Application materials are to be submitted the week before the auditions.  The materials include (1) an up-to-date, comprehensive list of the applicant’s collaborative piano repertoire, and (2) a completed application, which lists the repertoire for the audition:
INSTRUMENTAL:
A)   A classical sonata (choose one):
Violin:
Beethoven, D major, Op. 12, No. 1
Mozart, B flat major, K.454
Cello:
Beethoven, G minor, Op. 5, No. 2
B)   A romantic sonata (choose one):
Violin:
Brahms, A major, Op. 100
Franck, A major
Cello:
Brahms, F major, Op. 99
VOCAL (all four are required; they should be performed in printed high keys):
Brahms:           Meine Liebe ist grün
Schubert:         Frühlingstraum
Schubert:         Ganymed
Debussy:          Il pleure dans mon cœur
The Collaborative Piano faculty will review the repertoire lists and invite applicants to audition.

Please note:
·       Those interested in both instrumental and vocal accompanying must be prepared to play one (1) classical sonata, one (1) romantic sonata, and all four (4) of the vocal works listed.
·       Applicants must be prepared to sightread.
·       Applicants must audition with the partners the faculty assign.  If they substitute a work of their choice for any on this list, they must bring their own partner.
·       Substitutions may be made only in instrumental repertoire, and are subject to approval in advance by the faculty.
