Nearly 5,000 different plans have been formulated and the contingency planning system has basically been completed and covers all areas, prefectures and counties in Tibet, according to the Emergency Management Office of Tibet Autonomous Region.
Zhang Younian, vice secretary-general of the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Government, said that these contingency plans involve natural disasters, accidents, public health and others, and its effect has initially appeared.
Tibet currently released the first "Tibet Autonomous Region Meteorological Disaster Emergency Plan." This is of great importance in improving Tibet's prevention and disposal capacity, and minimizing the casualties and property loss caused by meteorological disasters.
